Medical Camps by Sewa Kunj Ashram during Covid Period

Donate for Health of Tribals of Sonebhadra during this Covid Pandemic

.........................................................................................................................

Sewa Samaprpan Sansthan has planned to organize medical camps in all villages of Sonebhadra district through Sewa Kunj Ashram, Chapki as its nodal centre. Details you may see here:

https://sewakunjashram.org/

At the time, medical camps on daily basis are organized at different villages. Bhabhani, Kachnarawa and Nagvan blocks are being covered these days. Bhabhani is being coordinated by doctors from local hospitals. Ashram Chikitsa Pramuk Dr. Suman Lal is heading Kachanarvan block and Nagvan block is being taken care by doctors from Varanasi.

Villagers are avoiding any medical camps etc organized by government with the fear of getting vaccinated. They are also not taking Corona disease seriously. At one hand they are unable to reach Robertsganj Covid Centre and on the other hand they have apprehensions towards Covid and vaccination. But as they are recognizing Ashram team, they come and take medicines. Meanwhile, the team make them aware about the disease and removes apprehensions towards vaccination.

As it might cost to take patients to Robrtsganj about Rs 50000 through private means due to this situation, Ashram is in process of developing Isolation Center at Ashram. District CMO has promised to extend help by sending doctors once or twice a week. Serious patients will be taken to Robertsganj by Ashram ambulances also.

Come forward and donate. You may please donate directly to bank account.

One year to Go

One year to go when  I decided to leave the Ashram affairs and focus on my study, Prayas Team  and Navodayans. It is really pleasing to see all the changes there in academic field what we visioned three years back. It is really difficult to part with after such integration. But as Hegel has proclaimed under the garb of thesis, the seed of antithesis starts growing and one day replaces thesis and become predominant. For the seek of knowledge and in the search of truth I took the strong step of breaking my engagement with the Ashram. When I joined Ashram I was taught not to bother about my initiative at Shakti Nagar. Basically that learning gave me strength not to bother about Ashram for my new goal and better, correct goal.
Many got attached with this Ashram. I might be the agent. But life is all about this. Though being influenced by anyone take your own decision and be responsible for your all actions. What I learnt after three years of commitment is this only.

A new beginning: advent into the world of information technology

Yesterday I visited Sewa Kunj Ashram with my family. As it is in the mid of rainy season, greenery has added the beauty of the Ashram. Lots of construction work was going on. Varieties of plants have been grown for the use of Ashramites. A new pond was being dug for improving water harvesting. Class rooms have been shifted in Hospital premise. Yesterday more than 600 people availed medical facilities in the medical camp organized at the Ashram.
But the most remarkable and outstanding activities was the opening of a computer center. Thanks to R B Pathakji, the project director of Reliance power plant, Sasan. This will open a new chapter and will help children to learn better. This will help villagers to get better information. Hope students will have bright future in coming days.

A unique way of birthday celebration

Engineers from NTPC spent their Sunday in Sewa Kunj Ashram. Sri Niwas sir celebrated birthday of his one year child with children of Ashram. As most of them came with their family, it proved nice and enjoying place for their kids. They all played, ran here and there, laughed, chased the rabbit and enjoyed the cool, green campus of the Ashram.

On this very occasion Parasmani Sir, DGM Finance who was also came here, interacted with children, inquired about their family background,  and appreciated the arrangement. He also suggested to start education till class tenth. As he found the difficulty in arrangement of teachers he suggested for making arrangement for video lectures and online lectures. After seeing the solar system for lighting and pumping water out, he also wished to arrange solar cooker.

We wish more people would start keeping at this very place and would start caring it for its well being.

Policy Matters

The main focus of Sewa Kunj Ashram is to provide education to Vanwasi children. Through education Indian culture will get consolidated in the remote part of the country where even officials would not like to go. We have many times mentioned the achievement of the Ashram in terms of academic achievement of the children of the Ashram. But we are really far away from our targets. Although these children are brilliant, yet they are unable to get success like a general category students, because the Ashram lacks basic infrastructure of providing education (even they have no proper permanent teacher to teach). Thanks to the effort of great leader and emancipator of untouchables, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar to garner some seat reserved for these children which enabled them to get successes in competitive exams.

It is really irony that Sonebhadra helps Indian Government generate thousands of crore rupees every year, this place lacks better transport, have no University and not a single good school for the poor. There is one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya which to some extent provides quality education free of cost, but most of children are not indigenous of Sonebhadra and their parents just settled here for doing job in the companies. This district really requires reservation in development.

1000 People at the Ashram

On 25 June, 2012 people from all parts of Sonebhadra were called for admission of their children in the Ashram for new session. As people have recognized the importance of Ashram, they came with their children here. Unexpected more than five hundred children came with their guardians. After taking test and brief interview we selected about 60 students. But only four students will get chance to stay in the Ashram, rest will be sent to other similar ashrams in different districts of Uttar Pradesh.
