Deepawali at SewaKunj

Awesome Scene! A silent Diwali!

Sewakunj Ashram is away from any human settlement in the radious of two kilometers. It is surrounded by trees. This is situated in jungle area for providing basic education to Vanvasi Children.

Although it is the only decoration done for celebration purpose, yet it is different and full of vigour.

So I spent this auspices occasion of Dipawali which is celebrated for remembering the victory of Ram over Ravan and his return to Ayodhya. Ram spent fourteen years of his early life (Youth) in Jungle with Vanvasi.

After lighting and some songs with rhythmic claps, we gathered in room. Children enjoyed with sweets. After sweet distribution, the session of Kirtan and Bhajan started.

The rhythmic claps on the beats of Dholak and harmonics of Harmonium made us thrill with joy. The song was enjoyable and relevant to the occasion.

With the acceptance of modern technologies people forgot their talent in cities. But all these methods of enjoyment is still preserved in villages. They knew how to enjoy in life in limited resources.

This was a memorable Deepawali for me. This was the third unique Dipawali in my life. The first one was in Navodaya in class sixth and the next one in IIT Kharagpur.
