Surjan:

What may be the actual reason, but Surjan aged 52, a resident of Kachnarava in Kon block of Sonebhadra got severe brain haemarrhage because of excessive drinking (deshi). He was very active, fearless and ready to take community work in his hand. He is poojari of his community. Drinking is not considered bad in his community (Baiga). In fact it is said that if you can't drink you can't belong to Baiga community.

Whatever would be his personal trait, he was a nice person for his family, for the community and an active volunteer of the Ashram. Although he was a poor man, he never asked for any thing. When his child fell ill, he struggled and managed himself for medical facilities, but unfortunately his son was not saved. Once a meeting was proposed and he was called to attend that and then revealed cause of his unavailability in the meeting his son's untimely death.

As he fell ill he was brought to a local doctor (called Jholachhap, not specialist). His hospital has not facilities for test. By mere observation he told that Surjan got brain haemarrhage and he couldn't treat him properly. But on request of his family he tried his best, Surjan came in conscious, talked but again fainted in the night. Day before yesterday I was with them at Duddhi Hospital. This is only hospital covering a large area of the district. There was no light, doctors were on leave, no facilities for test and doctors were in habit of referring most of cases to better hospitals. Hospitals in villages are really in hopeless condition and people are still on the mercy of God.

Finally we decided to go BHU. Although it is a government organization, innumerable patients, they gave better initial treatment and care. Why all want to live in city, because of this difference. Although Sonebhadra produces thousands of MW electricity, but their is electricity in Dudhi hospital, but there is AC in hospitals in big cities.

As doctors after consultation among themselves refused to take case in their hand,  we brought Surjan back  in Sonebhadra. Now his life is on the mercy of God with homeopathic treatment by Maheshji waiting for some miracle to happen bringing the life of Surjan back. But there was no miracle in the life of poor. He died living his children and wife behind him to face the future problems.

University with engineering and medical faculty in Sonebhadra near Renukut area could bring solace these souls and justice to the people of Sonebhadra.
